Strasbourg is a very large city indeed, however the centre still manages to retain an ‘old world’ charm.
The Cathedral was once the 2nd tallest building in the world!
One of the many views in ‘Petit France'
The European Parliament from the front….
and from the back (is this a ‘Europhoon’ haha?)
On the river border with Germany there is a 60 hectare public garden which straddles both sides of the river and joins Strasbourg and Kehl , incorporating former customs posts and military installations. For pedestrians and cyclists only there is this massive bridge suspension bridge. We did of course have a cheeky cycle ride into Germany (as you do!).
One of the many grand buildings constructed when the city was rules by the German Reich….
These houses on the water front date back to the 16th century….
