Charleville Mezieres was a convenient stop on our way towards the Alsace region. This is the river Meuse in the foreground
Amongst other things the town is famous for being the birth place of the French Poet Arthur Rimbaud (born in the building which was a mill house in the centre of the photo (now the Arthur Rimbaud museum)
The Place Ducale designed by Louis XII architects to emulate the Place des Vosges in Paris
One of the ‘Giants' in the Institut International de la Marionnettes which the Town is also famous for hosting a massive puppet based festival bi-annually.
