Metz sits astride the Moselle and Seille rivers. This is the front of the Gothic St Étienne Cathedral fashioned from gold sandstone.
Over on the South side of the city is the German 'Quartier Imperial', with stately boulevards and bourgeois villas, the brainchild of Kaiser Wilhelm II
Back in the city centre we saw these meringues being made in a shop window….two meringues are sandwiched with a flavoured cream, coated with the same cream and then rolled in a delicious coating…yum yum…...
They looked SO tasty…..
that Grahame just HAD to try one!
Oh the unadulterated pleasure!!
